Refer to the Users not yourself: Capture the users attention & strike a bond with them. Talk about things that could potentially help them in your posts. If they find your blog a useful resource with lots of on point knowledge & information you’ll increase page views easily.

Targeted Traffic: Getting traffic from the engines that is highly targeted to the topic of your blog will increase the overall user satisfaction of your blog. Try to target specific keywords related to the blog & the post in your Title Tag & Copy.

You can make some reasonable amount by using adbrite ads wisely with good keywords.

When I give these keywords out for free, people think I’m crazy. If you see around PromotePoint.com, the Adbrite ads are loaded with the highest paying keywords and make money online ads. I make around $40-50/month from these ads and there is no one buying them. The best thing is, these ads come on their own and I don’t need to approach any advertiser or any advertiser needs to approach me. I just set 8-10 keywords and if Adbrite finds a suitable advertiser for me, it automatically displays those ads.

These keywords are awesome, they generate $0.11 to $2.26 per click for me. I don’t know if these are the highest paying keywords for Adbrite but I’m sure they are definitely the top 25 keywords. First, let me make it clear, Adult keywords do not make you any extra money in Adbrite. Adult keywords just throw you to their other network – BlackLabelAds. (Tip: If you use these keywords in Adsense, except a minimum $2/click)

I have got many emails asking me for these keywords and how does Adbrite always display the ads on my website and there is never an “Advertise on this website – Powered by Adbrite” page. Its simple, I know my keywords very well

My suggestion to you here would be to pick atleast 10 keywords that match with your website. You can choose the highest paying keywords and make more money or choose the keywords which you think your reader/viewers would like to see/click. It means the same thing – More clicks = More money.

1. Submit your RSS feed
If you have a new blog then you most likely already have an RSS feed created for you.

3. Use Craigslist

So what you want to do is go to Craigslist for some large city like Chicago and then look for Gigs and then for writing.

You’re going to post something under Gigs >> Writing about how you are looking for a potential writer for your blog.

Be sure to include a link to your website with the proper keywords in the anchor tag.

Google crawls Craigslist frequently and will find your link. I highly suggest doing this only once in one city. Another side benefit of this is that you might actually find a good writer to help you produce content for your site.

Please don’t abuse this.

Posting relevant comments on blogs that don’t have nofollow in their links is another great way to get indexed very fast.

The trouble with feed burner

If you use feed burner to manage your RSS feeds do not submit the link to your RSS feed burner account.

Instead submit the link to the RSS feed created by your word processor or blogger account.

The reason for this is that he feed burner RSS feed does not link directly to your site but rather goes through an intermediary. So when you submit your feed burner RSS link to different places the search engine crawlers will find this link and pass credit to the intermediary URL and not your sites URL.

For example let’s take a look at the feed burner RSS feed for Nick’s traffic tricks:
http://feeds.feedburner.com/Promotepoint

If you take a look at that and look at the actual URL that feed burner is linking to you will see that it’s something like:
http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/promotepoint/~3/ejFs7FkDOVQ/

So instead when I submit my RSS feed to different places I will use the following:
http://www.promotepoint.com/feed/

This RSS feed links directly to my website and it’s the ones that I will submit to various RSS directories.

If you’re using WordPress you can usually find this URL by adding feed to the end of your domain.

For example:
http://www.promotepoint.com/feed/

What is nofollow

Frequently blogs will receive lots of junk comments with irrelevant links and text.The purpose of these comments is to get back links to someone’s website.

To stop this spam comments sometimes blog owners will put a nofollow attribute in any links posted in comments.

An example of this:

<a href="http://www.mysite.com/" rel="nofollow">

See the part that says rel=”nofollow”?

That’s the part that tells search engines not to follow this link. When Google sees this it won’t follow this link and renders the link almost useless for search engine optimization.

So if you’re trying to get back links by posting comments on blogs your work may not get you the results you’re looking for if you post comments and links on blogs that use nofollow.

Not everyone uses nofollow

I would guess that most blogs online now use nofollow for links in their comments. But there are a few who don’t use it.
For example I don’t use no follow for comments on this blog because I think it decreases comments and I have found other ways to deal with comment spam.
So when you’re looking to leave comments on blogs make sure that they are not using nofollow.

Get the Firefox plug-in

It’s can be a major pain to comb through the HTML source code of a website to see if it uses nofollow or not.
Luckily there is a Firefox extension for this:

This extension makes it really easy to see which links are follow and which ones are nofollow. It will turn all the links that are nofollow to a pink color and all other links to a purple color on a webpage.
